Since the mid-1990's, the San Francisco Bay Area has undergone dramatic changes brought about by an unprecedented economic boom.  Over the last five years, 461,200 new jobs were created.  That is an exponential increase over the years 1990 through 1995 when only 21,310 new jobs were created. 

As a consequence of this ravenous job market, the population of the region has exploded.  Since 1995, over half a million people have moved into the area. 

This incredible influx has seriously strained the infrastructure of the region; our freeways have become parking lots and the cost of housing has increased 35% in the last year alone.

To make matters worse, over the next ten years, the population of the Bay Area is expected to grow by almost 800,000 people. 

There's no doubt this is an incredibly desirable place to live.  Our challenge is to balance this explosive growth against the finite resources of the region.
