Global Pond is an on-line resource dedicated to the free exchange of information and ideas.  We seek to facilitate understanding and tolerance by and amongst peoples of different backgrounds and belief systems; to challenge conventional wisdom and engage people in the process of re-shaping our future; to empower people to act in their capacity as citizens of the world.  We believe that the Internet, so often an instrument of isolation, should serve as a portal to the global community to which we are bound, because the world is smaller than we think.
